Many people have wondered at some point in their lifetime, “where do we go when we die?” This question really only has one answer, but before we get to that, we must first establish who God is and learn about what He has done for us. The Bible teaches that everything is God’s creation, from the Earth we live on to Heaven where he presides.

The Bible says: “In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth."
Genesis 1:1

Heaven is God’s home. There is only God’s goodness, pure love, and perfection within the realm of Heaven. However this is a problem for mankind because of something called sin.

“For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God."
Romans 3:23

If you haven’t heard of “sin”, sin is any thought or action that is contrary to the goodness of God. Our sin ultimately separates us from God and prevents us from having a relationship with him.

But there is hope for us! Even despite our sinful nature, there is good news because the Bible tells us:

“For God so loved the world, that He gave His only Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life.”
John 3:16

God’s son, Jesus, was sent to Earth to live a perfect life, yet was crucified to pay for the sins of all mankind. Jesus defeated death three days after he was buried and He rose from the grave. Through Jesus’ death and resurrection, we are given an opportunity to have eternal life in Heaven and a relationship with God.

When the Bible talks about eternal life, that means after we die we get to live forever with God if we choose to believe and accept Jesus into our hearts.

When we accept the truth of his resurrection, we can begin to answer the question of, “where do we go when we die?”

The Bible says in 1 John 5:12-13, “Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have the Son of God does not have life. I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life.”

If you feel ready to take the next step in your journey with Christ, accept the gift of love and eternal salvation today. Begin to live your life with the reassurance of hope in Jesus by accepting him into your heart by praying this simple prayer.

Dear God,
I know I have sinned against you.
Please forgive me of all my sin.
I believe that your son died and rose again and I pray to receive Jesus as my savior here at this moment.
Thank you for renewed life and thank you for forgiving me of my sins.
I pray this in Jesus’ name, Amen.

Ephesians 2:8-9 tells us that, “For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast.”

Believing in Jesus and putting your faith in Him gives you the reassurance of everlasting life even after you die. It is not by any actions you can be saved, it truly is only by the grace of God.
